I find the words ‘networking opportunity’ have become a ‘catch all’ way of promoting every event in need of an audience, leading to expectations not being met.

It’s not the organisers’ fault but do we expect too much from such events?

Networking organisation deliver … networking opportunities. Referral organisations deliver – referrals. But whatever your preference, they don’t do it for you. They both provide the structure .. you still have to put the effort in.
