Standing out in a crowd

Jon Majeika, seen here at the Network Central event in Bristol, was asked why he was dressed in a suit jacket, shirt and tie and wearing flip flops and bermuda shorts.   His response; “because I like to mix business with pleasure”.

It took some guts to do what Jon did (especially with his legs) but he grabbed attention and was certainly remembered for daring to be different.  You see his knees provided a talking point. He also created interest in his remark – that he liked to mix business with pleasure to which he added – and I am looking for people who would like to add pleasure to their business.

You see Jon has a business that provides dream, celebrity holidays at wholesale prices and he did whatever it took to grab people’s attention in a crowded networking environment.  The question is – how could you stand out in a crowded market place so you get noticed?   Our natural tendency is to merge in the crowd and then we wonder why it takes so much effort to get noticed.

Brad Burton (4Networking) is someone you cannot ever miss.  Apart from the fact he is larger than life itself, he is not frightened to stand out from the crowed.  You can see him at networking events all over the country holding on to a Pizza Domino delivery box and in our main photo he is seen (and heard) at Network Central, attempting to get some sound our of his vuvuzela.

In my book and in his own way, Jon made just as much of an impact and you can too.
