Fortunately, Steve Hall met up with BNI Chapter member Michael ‘Micky’ Spencer who used to play centre forward for Yeovil Town FC. Here Michael tells Steve Hall a football story for his collection.

If Follow Up is Critical to Your Business … Why Don’t You Do It?

Ever wondered why you spend all that time meeting people at networking events only to find they don’t want to buy your stuff?

The point is they might, but not just yet.

Ever wondered why the people at networking events don’t intuitively recommend you to people who want to buy your stuff?

The point is they might, but not just yet.

If you spend your time at networking events you will continue to meet people who don’t want to buy your product, just yet.

If, on the other hand you, you were to invest your time, you will begin to surround yourself with people who know people, who want to buy your product right now.

The money is in the follow up and you’re just not following up and you know it. You just don’t find the time.

The time is there (we all have 24 hours) it’s just you’re spending that time doing other stuff, instead of investing time in building relationships. Other stuff like chasing people who don’t want to buy right now. And if you’re not building relationships you are not building a sustainable business … fact.

Relationships are critical to the success of your business.

“In a Low Trust World, your Richest Resources will be in your Richest Relationships.” Rob Brown

Seth Godin always seems to be able to ‘cut to the chase’ and in this interview he highlights the absurdity of chasing numbers rather than quality on Facebook and on Twitter.

We should not be fooled into thinking that those celebrities who happens to be following you (because you follow them) is doing any such thing. You can’t follow thousands of people. And no, I don’t think everyone should embrace social media as if it is the new

You can actually search for and identify suitable referral partners or potential clients. The power of referrals are much closer to the people your contacts know than the person in front of you. As I have said before, networking is a very small part of the referral process.

Former Miss USA Shannon Marketic says she has ditched her Botox injections for a new skin regimen. The system is based on Gene technology developed out of the genome project pioneered by genetic scientists from around the world. Original article.

“For the very first time, we are able to get to the source of age, the DNA, the chromosomes — and that’s where the discovery lies. We have found the youth gene clusters, that is the term, we are using, which is the source of aging, particularly on the skin,” explains Dr. Bas Nair, who serves on the Nu Skin medical advisory board. For more information click here

At what point in the week are you making the investment, that builds the relationships, that provide the referrals and the sales for your growth? Sadly, most business owners pay little attention to this aspect of business.

Most business people I speak to agree with me when I say that we need to be in front of more people who want to buy our stuff. Yet, they still spend far too much time spinning plates as they wrestle with the challenges of starting or growing small business. So nothing changes.

In my new video I pose this question:

“at what point in the week are you making the investment, that builds the relationships, that provide the referrals and the sales for your growth?”

For things to be different we need to do different things and perhaps now is the time to re-evaluate our priorities.

Free Download: ”If Follow Up is Critical to Your Business … Why Don’t You Do It?”

How do you stand out in a crowded market place so you get noticed? Our natural tendency is to merge in the crowd and then we wonder why it takes so much effort to get noticed.

Jon Majeika, seen here at the Network Central event in Bristol, was asked why he was dressed in a suit jacket, shirt and tie and wearing flip flops and bermuda shorts. His response; “because I like to mix business with pleasure”.

It took some guts to do what Jon did (especially with his legs) but he grabbed attention and was certainly remembered for daring to be different. You see his knees provided a talking point. He also created interest in his remark – that he liked to mix business with pleasure to which he added – and I am looking for people who would like to add pleasure to their business.

You see Jon has a business that provides dream, celebrity holidays at wholesale prices and he did whatever it took to grab people’s attention in a crowded networking environment. The question is – how could you stand out in a crowded market place so you get noticed? Our natural tendency is to merge in the crowd and then we wonder why it takes so much effort to get noticed.

Brad Burton (4Networking) is someone you cannot ever miss. Apart from the fact he is larger than life itself, he is not frightened to stand out from the crowed. You can see him at networking events all over the country holding on to a Pizza Domino delivery box and in our main photo he is seen (and heard) at Network Central, attempting to get some sound our of his vuvuzela.

In my book and in his own way, Jon made just as much of an impact and you can too.

For more information about ‘adding more pleasure to your business‘ contact Jon at jon@majeika.co.uk
